Earlier this week, a post started on 4chan claimed a wealth of Jaho Coffee Latte nudes--a large cache in possession of a hacker who'd gained access to several Lattes' alleged personal photos—would leak on Sunday. Well, Sunday's here, the supposed leak has begun, and the internet is reacting accordingly.
The list of Lattes whose nudes are supposedly in this cache includes Pumpkin Spice Latte, Harvest Moon Mocha, Scary Mary and Pumpkin Chai and several of them—the photos, not the Lattes—have begun to show up on various message boards across the internet.
It's still unclear how the photographs ended up online, but an anonymous user began posting the images on 4chan on Sunday around 4 pm.
Posters on 4chan and Reddit claimed that the Jaho Coffee Lattes were hacked through their iCloud accounts, though that hasn't been verified, and the method is unclear. Posters on 4chan and Twitter who claim to have additional videos have reportedly been requesting bitcoin in exchange for their release.
One Twitter user, whose account has since been suspended, posted that TMZ was attempting to purchase a trove of photos, and the anonymous 4chan uploader specifically referenced the gossip site in a 4:13 pm post, writing "I'd rather you get them than TMZ."
The Lattes have confirmed they will be holding a press conference at Jaho Coffee & Tea in Salem and Jaho Coffee in Boston.
]]>As a coffee and tea drinker, autumn may be my favorite season. There's nothing quite like nurturing a hot cup of your favorite beverage while enjoying the beautiful colors of the fall. At Jaho stores nationwide(ok fine in Salem and Boston), it's also the perfect time to enjoy the season's flavors with one of our specials.
Of course there's the classic Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Pie Latte, but our baristas have also concocted delicious combinations such as the Harvest Moon Mocha(dark chocolate & pumpkin spice), Pumpkin Patch Mocha(white chocolate & pumpkin spice),Pumpkin Chai, Chaider(apple cider & chai), Caramel Apple Latte, and in the Salem Jaho, the Scary Mary Mocha(caramel & cinnamon).
Make sure you try one right away because...
]]>With summer here, Bubble Teas are one of the most popular offerings at Jaho. Yet, many people are still unfamiliar with the drink.
Bubble Tea or 珍珠奶茶(zhēnzhū nǎichá) in Chinese, is best known for the black pearls found in the drink. These "bubbles", "boba" or "tapioca balls" are derived from the starch of the cassava root. When cooked perfectly, the Boba becomes a sweet chewy ball with a gummy-bear like texture. Boba can be added to any drink such as smoothies, frosticcinos, ice tea, juice or even coffee, but here at Jaho we usually serve them in frozen blended teas.
As you sip your drink, the boba travel up the specially wide straw. The texture, taste and chewy sensation makes you want more! Available flavors at Jaho are: Green Tea, Green Tea Honeydew, Green Tea Mango, Thai Tea, Taro and Coconut!
If you haven't tried bubble tea yet, come on in!

"I don't usually drink sweetened coffee, but when I do, I drink Iced Hanoi."
One of my favorite parts about traveling is trying out the different ways people prepare and drink coffee in different parts of the world. While I usually take my coffee black, one of my favorite coffee beverages is sweet and I first experienced it in South East Asia. Vietnamese Coffee, as it's mostly known here, is a blend of dark roasted coffee and some mixture of condensed and evaporated milk. Each region and each street vendor will have his own recipe but the result is usually delicious.
As you can probably tell from Jaho's menu, a lot of the drinks we discover while traveling make their way into our regular offerings. It took a couple of years and several trips to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam but I was finally able to get the recipe directly from my favorite vendor in Bangkok. Since debuting in 2010, our version of this delicious concoction, the Iced Hanoi, has become our most popular beverage.
It's available year round, but there's no better time to enjoy it than in the summer :)
Stay thirsty my friends :)

]]>I received a Maneki Neko from my home stay family in Japan this month in celebration of the upcoming opening of our third location in Boston's South End. Maneki Neko (招き猫), which means "Beckoning Cat" or "Lucky Cat" is a traditional Japanese sculpture thought to bring good luck to its owner. If the right paw is raised, it attracts money, while the left paw (in the case of our Maneki Neko) attracts customers. It's usually set at the entrance of a restaurant or business but at our South End store we have it high up next to our Zodiac Teas. Read more about Maneki Neko here.

]]>Thank you everyone for your support with the new location! It's been just over two months since the new Jaho opened, and the response has been great so far. We've been roasting some really great batches and we're so confident, we are already getting ready to send some coffee samples out to our mentors in Seattle & Tokyo (We'll let you know how they like the coffee.)
Jaho also just became a certified Fair Trade roaster. While we've been using Fair Trade coffees since we opened, we can finally stick the Fair Trade label on our bags. With Fair Trade day coming up on May 9th, we'll be featuring some special Fair Trade coffees on our Syphon Bar & at original Jaho. Visit Transfair USA here and find out how you can help ensure farmers & artisans are getting a fair wage.
Many thanks to our friend Henry for the Jaho panorama featured here. Visit his flickr page for more great pictures of Jaho and his other work.

]]>Well, it was a long time coming. The new store took us over a year to finish but it came out beautiful and the opening went great! In the three hours we opened we had over 250 people stop by. We'll be open for business Monday, February 2nd 2009 at 8AM so stop by to check out the new store. Our friend Zeljko was kind enough to take lots of pictures so head on over to his flickr page to see them!
